The project to expand National Highway 6, Ba La - Xuan Mai section (Hanoi) has a total length of 21.7 km, of which the section passing through Xuan Mai commune has a length of 6.53 km.
According to Xuan Mai Commune People's Committee, the total area of land recovered for project implementation is 38.58 ha with 1,804 land plots, related to about 1,376 households and individuals.
In which, residential land used by households and individuals alone accounts for 917 plots, an area of 8.31 ha; in addition, there are agricultural land, public land, national defense and security land and land of agencies and organizations.
The volume of site clearance is large, the scope of influence is wide, and the complexity requires the drastic involvement of the entire political system.
Up to now, the whole commune has completed measurement and inventory work; is implementing land origin identification, preparing and appraising compensation, support, and resettlement plans. The total area handed over is 24.9 ha, reaching 64.5%.
The whole commune has had over 500 households hand over land, of which 49 households using land in the traffic corridor in Tien Truong and Tien An villages have not been compensated or supported but have handed over land to the investor.
In Tan Mai village alone, there are a total of 161 land plots that must be cleared, with an area of more than 79,100 m2, of which 107 households and individuals use 125 plots with an area of more than 13,900 m2, the rest are national defense land, land of organizations, agencies, units and traffic, irrigation and public land managed by the Commune People's Committee.
To date, measurement and inventory have been completed; the origin of 99 land plots has been confirmed; plans for 30 plots have been developed and 30 plans have been appraised. 13 households using land from Warehouse T342 and Warehouse T342 unit have handed over the site with an area of 2.38 ha to the investor for project construction.

Leaders of Xuan Mai commune affirmed that the compensation and support prices are implemented in accordance with current regulations of the State and decisions issued by competent authorities; adjustment coefficients are applied to each location, especially for land plots adjacent to traffic roads.
The Dong Cham and Dong Vai resettlement areas have been and are being built with synchronous infrastructure, and it is expected that land will be handed over to eligible households in early May. The commune has arranged 6 land plots with convenient locations near the regulating lake area and National Highway 6 to serve resettlement, ensuring the best rights for people.
For houses, works, and assets on people's land, compensation will be based on the new construction unit price of each type of work, and the city's support policies will be applied.
Leaders of Xuan Mai commune also emphasized the consistent viewpoint of "applying policies within the highest scope, in accordance with legal regulations to ensure the legitimate rights of the people". At the same time, affirming their willingness to meet and directly dialogue with each household to answer specifically, helping people understand clearly and agree.
Xuan Mai commune strives to complete site clearance for the National Highway 6 expansion project in the second quarter of 2026.
