The road project from Son Duong to Tan Trao is more than 9km long, with a total investment of 420 billion VND. The project is implemented in the period 2023 - 2026 with the goal of synchronizing transport infrastructure and promoting socio-economic development in the southern region of Tuyen Quang province.
After a long period of implementation, there are still some households living in the project. The lack of agreement on the resettlement arrangement plan has caused many families to not be able to relocate and have to accept living miserably on the construction site, dusty in the sun and muddy in the rain.
PV's record at the end of April 2026, at the project site section passing through Cau Quat village (Son Duong commune), machinery and equipment were being massively constructed. Meanwhile, many houses are still precariously located close to the construction site.
During the excavation and embankment process, the roadbed was towering with large blocks of soil and rock. Looking down from above, people's houses are nestled underneath, surrounded by unreinforced soil slopes.
Some locations have not been leveled, posing a risk of unsafety, especially in heavy rain conditions.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Chin (Cau Quat village, Son Duong commune) said: "Every time it rains, mud falls down, greatly affecting daily life. My children also have difficulty going to school," Ms. Chin said.
Sharing the same frustration, Mr. Lanh Van Doan (Cau Quat village, Son Duong commune) said that his family still lives next to the construction site because they have not accepted the resettlement arrangement plan.

The project has been implemented for a long time, and for households that have not yet relocated, life is very hard. The roads are built high, and people's houses below are like pans, muddy and slippery.
Recently, it rained, landslides caused mud to flood into the house, greatly affecting life. Therefore, my family is currently temporarily living at the old headquarters of the commune," Mr. Doan said angrily.
According to PV's investigation, in Cau Quat village, there are currently about 7 households that have not been relocated from the project implementation area. Many families object because they believe that the resettlement arrangement plan is unreasonable.
While they cannot move to a new residence, households are still living in anxiety and insecurity at the construction site. People are extremely worried, hoping for a definitive solution soon.
On April 21, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Phung Viet Hung - Chairman of Son Duong Commune People's Committee said that after the situation of water overflowing into people's houses near the construction site occurred, the locality has inspected and handled it.

The weather must get sunny to request the investor to handle it thoroughly. Currently, there is resettlement land, but people have not agreed because there are still some problems and disagreements. The land fund center is coordinating with units to deploy and remove obstacles," the leader added.
According to Mr. Vu Thai Thinh - Director of the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Son Duong area (representative of the investor), the unit has repeatedly issued documents requesting contractors to ensure safety during construction.
Recently, it rained and some landslide locations had mud flowing down the road and people's houses. This location belongs to package 13 of Construction Corporation No. 8 (CIENCO 8) under construction.
In a few days, when the mud will dry out completely, the construction unit will have machinery dredging and handling it," Mr. Thinh said.
