The shape of the nearly 200 billion VND headquarters in the top tourist town of Lao Cai

After many years of construction, the project to build the headquarters of administrative agencies of Sa Pa town (Lao Cai), with an investment capital of nearly 200 billion VND, has gradually emerged.

In early January 2025, following the instructions of the people, the reporter was present at Dien Bien Phu Street to learn about the billion-dollar administrative headquarters project of Sa Pa town.

According to the records, the new administrative center is located on the top of the hill, in the Northwest Sub-district of the town. Surrounding the area are a series of adjacent houses under construction.

Through observation, up to now, the project is almost finished, the shape of the headquarters is gradually revealed. At the project, workers are completing the items inside the building.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu (Sa Pa town) said: “The town’s new administrative center has been under construction for a long time, but it was probably delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I often pass by here and see that the large building is almost finished. I hope that this year this headquarters will be put into use so that people can do their paperwork more conveniently.”

It is known that the project of Sa Pa town administrative office headquarters has a total investment cost of 197.8 billion VND, using capital from the provincial budget, with the Department of Transport and Construction as the investor, the investor representative is the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.

The project belongs to group B project, designed in modern architectural style, including 6 floors above ground, 1 basement, construction area of ​​5,108 m2, floor area of ​​14,600 m2.

The basement is used for parking and technical purposes of the building, the floors from the 1st to the 5th floor are used for offices, meeting rooms, and conference rooms; the 6th floor is designed as a storage area for agencies and units.

This is one of the key projects of Lao Cai province in the period of 2020 - 2023. However, due to being implemented right during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has significantly affected the construction implementation.

The construction unit is a joint venture of 19-8 Construction Company Limited and 168 Thai Nguyen Construction and Import-Export Company Limited.

The project was built to meet the working needs of cadres, civil servants and public employees working at state agencies in Sa Pa town; creating convenience in directing, inspecting and supervising between state management agencies.

Along with that, it helps people easily look up information and access administrative procedures.

On January 7, sharing with Lao Dong, Sa Pa Town Party Secretary Phan Dang Toan said: “The project to build the town’s new administrative center headquarters has completed the construction and installation part, and is in the process of interior construction. Within the first 6 months of 2025, the project will be completed and put into use.”

According to Mr. Phan Dang Toan, when it comes into operation, the Party Committees and authorities of the town will be concentrated in one headquarters. This will also facilitate people in doing paperwork and administrative procedures.
