On March 11, the People's Committee of Trieu Phong district (Quang Tri province) confirmed that in Trieu Ai commune, 123 plots of land that were leveled by the People's Committee of the commune and separated from forest land in violation of regulations have not yet been converted for use.
Previously, the People's Committee of Trieu Ai commune received a petition from people asking for land to build houses. The People's Committee of the commune collected more than 400 million VND from the people, leveled 46,000m2 of forest land on the frontage of Ai Tu - Tru Lau road (Trieu Ai commune), then set up markers, divided into 123 plots of land, each plot with an area of 270m2 to 300m2.
In 2021, when the commune had marked the locations of the plots of land, the People's Committee of Trieu Phong district discovered that the leveling of forest land and subdivision were against regulations, so it requested the People's Committee of Trieu Ai commune to return the money to the people, keeping the land in its original state.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Trieu Phong district, Mr. Phan Van Linh, said that after the incident, the district directed the People's Committee of Trieu Ai commune to include the land in the residential area planning, and at the same time prepare an economic - technical report on the planning of the residential area of Trieu Ai commune, to serve the residential land needs of people in the area. However, up to now, the planning has not met the requirements due to the lack of some related items.
In response to the people's residential land needs, the People's Committee of Trieu Phong district continues to direct Trieu Ai commune to complete the dossier to submit to the competent authority for approval, and organize implementation in accordance with legal regulations.
According to Mr. Phan Van Linh, recently, some people have come to plant cajuput on the land. The district has directed the commune to handle and maintain the land status as prescribed.
