Hung Yen - The province is focusing on removing obstacles, speeding up the progress of social housing projects, and meeting the housing needs of low-income people.

According to the Hung Yen Department of Construction, in recent times, the province has actively implemented many solutions to promote the development of social housing, meeting the housing needs of workers and low-income people. The Department of Construction has coordinated with relevant sectors to review land funds, publish project information to attract investors, and monitor the progress of projects under development.

According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, in the period of 2021 - 2030, Hung Yen was assigned by the Prime Minister to build 42,500 social housing units. Of which, in the period of 2022 - 2025, strive to complete about 13,100 units; in the period of 2026 - 2030, about 29,400 units will be built. In 2025 alone, the target assigned is 1,750 units. This is an important task to synchronize with industrial development, attract labor and stabilize social security in the area.

To achieve this goal, Hung Yen has been implementing a number of large projects. Recently, the Provincial People's Committee announced information on finding investors for the Social Housing Area in Pho Hien Ward, part of the 1/2000 Planning Project for the East of Dien Bien River Urban Sub- Zoning Area (Area D). The project has a total area of about 31.5 hectares, an expected construction floor area of 500,000 m2, and a total investment of about 7,000 billion VND. The current status of the area is mostly agricultural land, water surface land, and irrigation ditches. The project implementation period is extended to 5 years from the date of approval of the investment policy.

Previously, the province also announced the CT1 and CT2 low-income apartment complex project in the Pho Noi Industrial Park housing and service area (Pho Noi House). The project consists of 4 9-storey buildings, with 1,076 apartments, with an estimated price of 20 million VND/m2, equivalent to about 1.4 billion VND for the largest apartment. This is a project expected to solve the urgent housing needs of workers in industrial parks.

According to the Hung Yen Department of Construction, in the period of 2021 - 2024, the whole province has completed two projects with more than 1,000 social housing apartments. Currently, there are 4 projects being implemented, with a total scale of 3,588 apartments. It is expected that this year, the province will exceed the assigned target by 20%, or about more than 2,000 units, thereby contributing significantly to solving the housing needs of workers and policy beneficiaries.

Along with announcing information about the new project, the Hung Yen Department of Construction also said that it will continue to coordinate with sectors and localities to speed up site clearance progress, remove difficulties in investment procedures, and at the same time recommend the Central Government to have a preferential credit support mechanism for both investors and buyers. The goal is to create the most favorable conditions for social housing projects in the area to soon be put into use, contributing to the realization of the development plan for 42,500 units in this decade.
