With a total planned area of more than 33 hectares in the core area of Thu Thiem New Urban Area, the new Political - Administrative Center project of Ho Chi Minh City is being urgently prepared. According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, the project will be started in the second quarter of 2026.
The golden land plot chosen is located in the most prime location of Thu Thiem New Urban Area, right opposite Ba Son bridge. This location creates a continuous and seamless connection with the existing city center, affirming its core role in the multi-center urban development strategy.

According to the detailed plan, the new Political - Administrative Center building will be an architectural highlight with an area of about 7.84 hectares and a maximum height of 30 floors. The building stretches along To Huu street, facing the view embracing Central Square.
In terms of function, the Administrative Center is planned to meet the regular working needs of about 6,000 officials, civil servants, and public employees. It is expected that each day, the Center will receive about 1,500 - 2,000 citizens and business representatives through the modern "one-stop shop" system.
The remaining area of the land (more than 25 hectares) will be fully reserved for large-scale cultural and public space projects. Specifically, including: Symphony Orchestra - Music - Ballet Theater (3.18 hectares), ecological flooded park (about 10 hectares) and large central lake (about 12 hectares).

The design of the entire area prioritizes the open space model. Thanks to the continuous pedestrian traffic network, people can easily stroll from the main hall of the Administrative Center or Theater to immerse themselves in green parks, lakes or move to underground metro stations.
Regarding surrounding infrastructure, this 33-hectare area is currently surrounded by 3 of the largest traffic " corridors" of Thu Thiem peninsula, including Mai Chi Tho Avenue, Nguyen Co Thach Street, and To Huu Street.

Not only has the advantage of roads, this area also benefits from the underground urban railway network to be deployed soon. Most notably, the Ben Thanh - Thu Thiem metro line is being proposed for investment with a preliminary total investment of about 33,000 billion VND.
This nearly 6 km long railway line will go underground through Thu Thiem New Urban Area. It is expected that there will be 2 stations including Vong Cung Avenue station and Children's Palace station arranged adjacent to the construction land of the Administrative Center project.
In addition, metro line No. 7 (Tan Kien - Depot Long Binh) about 51.2 km long is also planned to pass through the Tran Bach Dang - Tran Nao area. This infrastructure promises to strengthen strong inter-regional connectivity for the new city center.
