Khanh Hoa - The local inter-sectoral delegation has worked and inspected spontaneous private wharves and yards after reflecting signs of illegal operation, causing unsafety.

According to information from Cam Ranh Ward People's Committee on April 3, an inter-sectoral delegation including the Department of Construction and Nha Trang Maritime Administration has conducted work related to the spontaneous private wharf and yard in Phu Thinh Residential Group.

Previously, on March 13, Mr. Truong Cao Dung - Deputy Director of Nha Trang Maritime Administration received a request to inspect and verify the content reflecting "a private wharf showing signs of illegal operation, illegal profit-making business, tax evasion, causing damage and serious impact to business units in the seaport sector".

In addition, this wharf and yard is also reflected as showing signs of sea encroachment, concretization, construction of wharves and illegal anchoring of ships and boats.

The area also potentially poses a risk of traffic unsafety when motorbikes, rudimentary vehicles go against traffic, and trucks carrying goods enter and exit regularly but without warning signs, without traffic connection records.

Through inspection, Nha Trang Maritime Port Authority determined that this wharf has been operating for more than 10 years, located south of beach No. 4 Cam Ranh, behind View Bien Restaurant, in Phu Thinh residential group, Cam Ranh ward.

Real-world records show that the wharf is built with concrete pillars, the surface is covered with concrete along the edge of the bank with a length of about 30m. The path from National Highway 1A to the wharf is a small, bumpy dirt road.

From the inspection results, Nha Trang Maritime Port Authority has reported to local agencies to coordinate handling according to regulations.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Lu Ngoc Trung - Chairman of Cam Ranh Ward People's Committee said that the wharf was self-opened by private individuals, operating for a long time to receive seafood vehicles entering and leaving, transporting food to serve aquaculture in Cam Ranh Bay.

In 2020, this wharf was administratively sanctioned for spontaneous operation.

Currently, the wharf area is within the planning scope of a large local project.

In the coming time, the Cam Ranh ward government will mobilize and explain to the wharf owner to cooperate and self-dismantle the items to serve the project implementation according to regulations.
