On April 1, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) said that it had issued a decision to inspect the compliance with legal regulations on ensuring food safety at food service establishments and collective kitchens in Hanoi city and Ninh Binh province.
According to the content of the decision, the inspection is carried out in a surprise manner, with a period of 15 days from the date of announcement of the inspection decision. The inspection period is determined from January 1, 2026 to the time of inspection, and at the same time consider both the pre- and post-related stages if necessary.
The list of establishments subject to inspection will be selected by the Hanoi City Sub-Department of Food Safety and Hygiene and the Ninh Binh Provincial Sub-Department of Food Safety.
The Food Safety Department said that the inspection decision was issued based on the 2010 Food Safety Law; decrees and circulars guiding implementation; functions and tasks of the Food Safety Department; and at the same time closely followed the spirit of Official Dispatch No. 26/CD-TTg dated March 30, 2026 of the Prime Minister on rectifying slaughter control work, strengthening discipline and order in the performance of official duties.
Inspection Team No. 1 performing tasks in Ninh Binh province is headed by Ms. Bui Thi Ngoan - Deputy Head of the Legal - Inspection Department.
Inspection team No. 2 performing tasks in Hanoi city is headed by Mr. Luu Duc Du - Deputy Head of the Food Poisoning Monitoring and Information and Communication Department.
The inspection teams will focus on inspecting the implementation of legal regulations on food safety at food service business establishments and collective kitchens.
In addition to inspection, the teams are also responsible for fully performing their tasks and powers as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 70 of the Food Safety Law; and at the same time handling or proposing handling of violations arising during the inspection process, summarizing and reporting results according to regulations.
