Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee Huynh Van Son has just issued a document requesting Directors of provincial departments, branches, Chairmen of People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to directly direct the implementation and application of the one-stop mechanism, assign 1 unit to process, handle documents at the same time or integrate procedures, shorten at least 30% of the time for administrative procedures on investment and construction of social housing.
Departments, branches and localities need to proactively coordinate and support investors to remove difficulties and speed up the implementation progress of each project. At the same time, there must be specific responsibilities assigned to each unit and professional department, monitoring, inspecting and urging the implementation progress.
Currently, Long An province has licensed and started construction of 3 social housing projects including: Ihoa Vina social housing area for workers (Hau Nghia town, Duc Hoa district), workers' housing area (Ward 4, Tan An city) and social housing in Luong Hoa residential area (Luong Hoa commune, Ben Luc district), with a total area of 1.51 hectares, with a scale of 479 apartments. The Provincial People's Committee recommends that investors focus resources to speed up the construction progress and put it into operation soon.
In addition, 4 social housing projects in My Hanh Nam, Duc Lap Ha communes (Duc Hoa district) and Long Trach commune (Can Duoc district) with an area of 19.1 hectares and a scale of 2,331 apartments are also being urgently directed by the province to complete legal procedures to start construction. Information related to the project will be made public for people to register to buy and lease according to regulations.
In addition, Long An currently has 22 commercial housing projects with social housing land fund (20% of the project area) with a total scale of 195.7 hectares, 49,186 apartments. The province requires businesses to quickly deploy the construction of social housing on schedule. Industrial park investors are also directed to soon build accommodation for workers.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to proactively review and synthesize projects eligible for loans from the VND120,000 billion support package under Resolution No. 33/NQ-CP dated March 11, 2023 of the Government, and advise on the announcement of the list so that businesses can easily access preferential capital sources.
According to statistics, Long An province currently has about 234,285 workers working in industrial parks and this number is expected to increase to more than 253,000 people by 2030. Meanwhile, to date, only 7 social housing projects for workers and low-income people have been completed with a total scale of 5.41 hectares, 1,884 apartments, meeting about 8,000 people.

Mr. Dang Hoang Tuan - Director of the Department of Construction of Long An Province informed: According to the plan, in 2025, the province will continue to start many social housing projects. Notably, on 5.3.2025, Long An Department of Construction in collaboration with the investor Prodezi held the groundbreaking ceremony of the social housing apartment project in La Home ecological urban area (Luong Hoa commune, Ben Luc district). The project includes 2 8 -storey blocks, a total of 400 apartments, construction area of more than 0.71 ha, total investment of over 421 billion dong. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, meeting the accommodation for more than 1,200 employees.
With high determination, Long An is striving to complete the goal of building 71,250 social housing units by 2030, meeting the housing needs of low-income workers and workers working in industrial parks and clusters in the area.
