Responding to the policy of urban embellishment and synchronous infrastructure construction, people of Cam Khe A residential group, Tu Minh ward (Hai Phong city) have promoted the spirit of solidarity, voluntarily donating land and dismantling works to expand and upgrade the main traffic axis road in the area.
The road has a length of nearly 1,200m, an average road surface width of 6.77m, passing through Pham Quy Thich, Pham Duy Uong, Ly Tu Cau and Le Quang Bi streets. According to the plan, the project is invested synchronously, replacing the entire drainage system, asphalt concrete pavement, meeting the travel and drainage needs of people.
The highlight of the project is the high consensus of households in site clearance work. On Pham Quy Thich route, many households have proactively destroyed fruit trees and crops to hand over the site. Pham Duy Uong route has 41 households voluntarily donating land and assets on land. Meanwhile, Ly Tu Cau and Le Quang Bi routes recorded 18 households participating in donating land and dismantling works.
Many typical cases show that the spirit of community is spreading strongly. Such as Ms. Dao Thi Lan's household voluntarily dismantling over 30m of wall, going 1m deep to rebuild according to the plan. Mr. Tran Van Trung's household donated a land area of 1.9m x 16m, and at the same time dismantled fences, corrugated iron sheds, and solid gates with an estimated value of about 10 million VND/m. The total donated land area and the value of assets of the households are currently being further statistically completed.
The voluntary donation of land and contribution of effort by people not only contributes to accelerating the project progress but also clearly demonstrates the role of the people as the subjects in building a civilized city. After completion, the road will become an important traffic and landscape axis, contributing to improving the quality of life, promoting socio-economic development and increasing land value in the area.
