On the morning of May 5, functional agencies of Nhon Trach ward, Dong Nai city coordinated with professional units of Dong Nai City Police to investigate the cause of the accident between a passenger car and a truck on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway that killed the passenger car driver.
Initial information, at about 2 am on May 5, a sleeper bus driven by a male driver (identity unknown) was traveling on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway in the direction of Dau Giay, when it reached the section near the intersection with road 319 in Nhon Trach ward, Dong Nai city, it collided with a tractor-trailer in front. The accident killed the bus driver on the spot.
The accident caused prolonged traffic congestion on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, especially the Long Thanh bridge section towards Dau Giay.
Upon receiving the news, the forces of Highway Traffic Police Team No. 6 (Team 6), Room 6 of the Traffic Police Department (C08) of the Ministry of Public Security were present at the scene, coordinating with the Fire and Rescue Police force of Dong Nai City Police (area 4); Nhon Trach Ward Police to deploy rescue work, regulate traffic, rescue passenger car assistants safely, and transfer them to the hospital.
The Fire and Rescue Team of Region 4 mobilized 14 officers and soldiers along with 1 command vehicle, 1 rescue vehicle, 1 fire truck and specialized rescue equipment to quickly arrive at the scene to organize rescue work, rescuing 21 people and handing them over to medical agencies.
The accident is still being investigated by functional agencies.
