On May 4 (local time), a small plane crashed into a building in Belo Horizonte, southeastern Brazil, killing 3 people, according to local authorities and firefighters.
The plane was carrying 5 people, including the pilot and co-pilot, who died at the scene. 3 passengers were rescued in critical condition and taken to the hospital. Subsequently, the Minas Gerais state government confirmed that one of the passengers had died, bringing the total death toll to 3, while the other 2 are being treated and in stable condition.
According to firefighters, no residents in the building were injured and the structure was not damaged.
The plane took off in the early afternoon from Pampulha airport, about 8km from the center of Belo Horizonte, with the destination being Sao Paulo. However, the vehicle only flew for a few minutes before crashing into a three-story residential building. The cause of the accident has not been clarified.
