The whole country has started construction of 40 social housing projects in the first 5 months of 2026
Information at the Q2/2026 press conference, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Construction Lam Van Hoang said that in the field of social housing, in the first 5 months of 2026 alone, the whole country has started construction of 40 more projects with a scale of 34,383 units. Accumulated to date, the whole country is deploying more than 720,000 social housing units, reaching about 72% of the Project's goal of building at least 1 million social housing apartments, of which more than 180,000 units have been completed, contributing to improving housing conditions for hundreds of thousands of households.
The Ministry of Construction is also coordinating with ministries and sectors to study and amend the Housing Law, the Real Estate Business Law and related regulations, including orienting the synchronous development of commercial housing, social housing, public housing and rental housing; identifying rental housing as one of the strategic pillars of social security by 2030," said Lam Van Hoang, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Construction.
