On July 7, after signing an asset auction service contract with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Ngai province (formerly Kon Tum province), Kon Tum Central Highlands Joint Stock Auction Company will organize an auction of mineral exploitation rights for 18 unexplored mineral areas.
The auction is scheduled to take place at 8:00 a.m. on July 16, 2025. Of which, there are 8 sand mine areas, 6 stone mine areas and 4 land areas for common construction materials. These areas are mainly located in communes such as Dak Glei, Dak To, Dak Ha, Tu Mo Rong... with reserves of thousands of cubic meters.
After being approved by the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, the starting price of the 18 mineral areas is nearly 15 billion VND, auctioned in the form of bidding up. The above price does not include survey fees, reserve assessments, and costs for preparing mining documents after winning the auction...
Individuals and businesses participating in the auction must deposit in advance with a revenue of 20% of the starting price, equivalent to VND 2.99 billion.

Of which, area No. 5 has the highest reserve with forecast resources over 200,000 m3; stone reserve with forecast resources about 795,000 m3; area No. 4 has forecast land reserves of nearly 500,000 m3.
In the west of Quang Ngai province, along major rivers such as Dak Bla, Dak Snghe, Po Co river... there are many mineral mine locations. The provincial government requires localities and authorities to speed up legal procedures, promptly put auctioned mineral mines into exploitation according to the design, to ensure the supply of construction materials and fill soil for the projects.
The province also requires proactive proposals to cancel auction results and terminate investment in cases with signs of speculation, slow implementation of procedures, failure to provide materials as committed or intentional price inflation.
The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province requires the auction to be conducted publicly, fairly, and effectively to increase revenue for the budget.
In addition, these mineral areas will serve the material needs of the upcoming Quang Ngai - Kon Tum expressway project, avoiding a lack of supply leading to construction delays or capital increases.
