Implementing the Prime Minister's direction on developing rental housing, in which in the provinces and cities: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, each locality strives to start construction of at least one rental housing project in June 2026, Quang Ninh province has immediately started to implement and will start construction of the first rental housing project in the province on June 30th.
Quang Ninh's first rental housing project is invested in Yen Thanh urban area, Uong Bi ward with an area of 3,500m2. The project includes a 7-story apartment building with about 150 self-contained apartments with an area of 27-70m2 and a synchronous technical infrastructure system such as: parking lots, playgrounds, green landscapes... The project has a total estimated investment of about 130 billion VND, invested from the Housing Fund of Quang Ninh province. After completion, the project will contribute to meeting the housing rental needs for workers, laborers, students...
Previously, to have more resources to invest in building social housing for rent, the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council approved an amount of 500 billion VND as initial charter capital for the Quang Ninh Provincial Housing Fund.
According to Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, the total demand for social housing in the whole province in the period 2021 - 2030 is 40,214 apartments with financial needs of about 25,100 billion VND.
The expected capital demand to create a rental housing fund to meet the requirements in the province is 2,357 billion VND (1,906 billion VND to invest in building social housing, investment projects to build synchronous social housing with technical infrastructure and social infrastructure for rent and 451 billion VND to create social housing through the form of buying from investors for rent).
Implementing the task of developing social housing, currently, Quang Ninh province has 3 completed projects, 15 projects are being implemented, and 35 social housing locations continue to be selected for investors. Quang Ninh is determined to complete the target assigned by the Government to develop social housing in 2026 and the entire 2026-2030 period.
