On November 7, the People's Committee of Quang Tho Ward (Ba Don Town, Quang Binh Province) announced that it had resumed construction of the ward People's Committee headquarters after a long period of temporary suspension.
The local authorities have announced the land acquisition, held a meeting with the people and are carrying out the next steps to clear the land in accordance with regulations. The people basically agree with the proposed compensation plan.
At the same time, the locality directed the construction unit to resume construction. Currently, the project is being tiled, then the next items will be continued. The investor will speed up to quickly complete according to the set schedule.

Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, the new headquarters of the People's Committee of Quang Tho Ward was started in 2022, constructed by Minh Loi General Construction Company Limited. The project has an investment capital of 15 billion VND, of which the Ba Don town budget supported 6 billion VND, and the ward contributed nearly 9 billion VND.
According to the design, the project consists of a 2-storey building, planned on an area of 2 hectares, including a campus and office buildings for the ward People's Committee staff. The new headquarters is about 500m from the old ward People's Committee. However, up to now, the project has only built the rough working building and has been abandoned for more than a year.
Quang Tho Ward People's Committee said that the reason the People's Committee headquarters is unfinished during the construction process is due to problems in land allocation procedures.
Previously, the Ward People's Committee believed that the construction land area was 5% of the ward's agricultural land. However, after the inspection concluded, it was discovered that this was agricultural land that had been transferred to the people for stable use before 2014.
According to regulations, land acquisition procedures must be completed, compensation must be paid to the people, and then construction will resume.
