Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper on June 28, a representative of Vietnam Airlines said that they had temporarily suspended flights of two groups of four pilots after the plane crash at Noi Bai airport.

A representative of Vietnam Airlines said that the suspension of the four pilots on the Boeing 787 and Airbus 321 aircraft will start from the afternoon of June 27 until the airline has a conclusion on the incident.

Vietnam Airlines has established an independent investigation team to investigate and assess the cause of the incident, in parallel with the investigation team to determine the cause of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam. The airline also coordinated with aviation authorities to clarify the incident.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on June 27, 2025, at Noi Bai International Airport, a collision occurred between two aircraft while traveling in the taxiway area.

Accordingly, the plane with the number VN-A863, making flight VN7205 from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, while rolling out onto the runway to prepare for takeoff, crashed into the rear of the plane with the number VN-A338, which was waiting to make flight VN1804 from Hanoi to Dien Bien.

A representative of Noi Bai airport said that the two aircraft recorded damage to the collision part, and some debris was collected at the scene. The weather at the time of the incident was favorable, with good visibility.

All 386 passengers on the two flights were taken back to Terminal T1. Vietnam Airlines is urgently arranging replacement aircraft for passengers to continue their journey.

Immediately after the incident, Noi Bai International Airport coordinated with functional units to inspect the scene, towing the two aircraft to a safe parking location, clearing and sanitizing the S and S3 taxiway areas. Air traffic operations at the airport are still taking place normally.

The cause of the incident is currently being further clarified by the authorities.

The authorities are coordinating with relevant parties to conduct an assessment and verify the cause of the incident according to regulations.
