Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just officially approved the detailed planning project at a scale of 1/500 of the Political - Administrative - Cultural Center and Central Lake Park in Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
According to the decision of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the planning area is located in An Khanh ward, belonging to the Thu Thiem central lake area (area 1 according to the local adjustment of the zoning plan at a scale of 1/2000 Sub-area No. 1).
The land area is about 33 hectares, with borders to the East bordering Nguyen Co Thach street, to the Northwest bordering To Huu street and to the South bordering Mai Chi Tho avenue.
The project aims to concretize the adjustment of the pre-approved zoning plan on the arrangement and arrangement of key projects in Thu Thiem New Urban Area such as the Political - Administrative Center, Children's Palace, Theater - Performing Arts - Conference Center.
The plan also closely follows major orientations according to the Resolution of the National Assembly and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, aiming to build an administrative center with a scale commensurate with the role of the city after administrative boundaries are arranged.


This area is oriented to become the Political - Administrative - Cultural center of Ho Chi Minh City, combining park space and central lake, creating architectural - landscape highlights for the entire Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
According to forecasts, the total service scale of the area is about 15,000 people, of which about 6,000 officials, civil servants, and public employees work regularly.
In addition, it is expected that about 2,000 people come for administrative transactions every day, 3,000 visitors participate in cultural activities, 3,000 people visit parks and about 1,000 service workers.


The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said that the new Administrative Center and landscape park project at Thu Thiem central lake are expected to be grounded on April 30th.
The project has a total investment of about 30,800 billion VND, proposed by the enterprise to be implemented in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), BT contract (build - transfer).
According to the plan, the administrative center will be built on a land area of 7.84 hectares, with a scale of 33 floors (including 30 above-ground floors and 3 basements), a total floor area of about 220,000 m2, and a building height of about 173.4 m.
In addition, the complex also includes a 10-story multi-purpose theater (7 above-ground floors, 3 basements) with a floor area of more than 51,000 m2; a landscape park area of about 10 hectares combined with water surface of more than 12 hectares; and a 2-story underground parking system with an area of about 50,000 m2.
