The information was shared by Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang at a meeting with voters in Binh Tay, Binh Tien and Binh Phu wards before the 16th National Assembly election, held on the afternoon of March 9.
At the conference, many voters raised opinions and recommendations related to slow-progress projects that have been prolonged for many years, directly affecting people's lives.
Voter Nguyen Thi Luu Ly (Binh Phu ward) proposed that functional agencies soon accelerate the progress of the project in Zone III - Nam Ly Chieu Hoang.
According to Ms. Ly, this project has been "suspended" for more than 20 years, causing many households in the area to face many difficulties and limited housing and land rights.
Meanwhile, voter Pham Van Phat (Binh Tien ward) hopes that candidates if elected as National Assembly deputies will pay more attention to completing technical infrastructure and transportation infrastructure in the locality.
According to Mr. Phat, currently in Binh Tien ward, there are two key projects that people are particularly interested in: the Hang Bang canal renovation project (phase 3) and the Binh Tien bridge and road project.
These are all important projects that help improve the living environment, reduce flooding, reduce traffic congestion, and create motivation for socio-economic development for the region as well as Ho Chi Minh City.
On behalf of the candidates answering voters, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Tran Luu Quang said that the city is focusing on implementing two key tasks.
One is to remove prolonged backlogs, especially suspended plans and suspended projects. Two is to promote rapid and sustainable development in the coming time.
According to Mr. Tran Luu Quang, General Secretary To Lam also assigned Ho Chi Minh City to prioritize handling some urgent issues such as traffic jams, flooding, air pollution, and drug evils.

Regarding long-standing suspended projects, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee said that the city is conducting a comprehensive review of suspended plans and suspended projects in the area.
On that basis, functional agencies will focus on removing legal obstacles, planning and resources to accelerate the implementation progress.
The city will try to definitively resolve prolonged backlogs, thereby stabilizing people's lives and effectively exploiting land resources for development" - Mr. Tran Luu Quang emphasized.
