On April 8, Vung Tau Ward People's Committee (HCMC) organized a consultation with relevant residents on the content of the 1/500 scale master plan for a thematic park at residential land plot No. 21 Thong Nhat street.
This land area has a total area of more than 13,000 m2, located in the center of Vung Tau ward with 4 fronts on Thong Nhat, Le Lai, Pham Ngu Lao and Ly Thuong Kiet streets. The current status of the land is without architectural works; it is park green land with many ancient trees, but it is growing naturally, lacking planning, not being periodically cared for... leading to ineffective exploitation.

According to Vung Tau Ward People's Committee, the above land plot has a favorable geographical location when connecting key traffic and synchronous social infrastructure and services. The implementation of park construction investment is in line with the policy of developing public utility works of Ho Chi Minh City; contributing to improving the quality of living environment for surrounding people.
The park is designed with a central building with an exhibition function combined with services, with the image of octopus representing adaptation, intelligence and survival. Besides, there are many functional sub-areas including: culture - history (Dinosaur models recreating the Jurassic era); science - art; movies - comics... with high interactivity and community connection.
Existing ancient green trees will be completely preserved, and based on the current situation to establish an open park model, optimizing multi-directional access for people.
Most people in the area around the project expressed their support for investing in open parks on the land. At the same time, it is proposed that local authorities consider the specific location of the land between many schools, should arrange appropriate designs, add parts for children and students; expand parking areas in the vicinity of the park.

There are also opinions suggesting considering choosing images of octopuses in the central architecture, which can be replaced by whales or another image to better suit the locality; and children and students studying at surrounding schools.
This area has been abandoned for many years and the current situation is very messy, so the construction and renovation of the park needs to be implemented quickly to put it into operation soon," a resident expressed his opinion.
According to Vung Tau Ward People's Committee, after receiving people's contributions, the locality will continue to implement the next steps to implement the project according to regulations. If favorable, the park with a total investment of about 20 billion VND is expected to be started in the third quarter, and completed construction and put into operation by the end of 2026.
