A 64th-minute header from centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes gave Arsenal a 1-0 win over Tottenham in the north London derby.
This result helps the Gunners have 3 consecutive wins on the opponent's field, the first time since 1988.
Arsenal are without the suspended Declan Rice, along with injured absentees Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino and Riccardo Calafiori.
Odegaard and Calafiori were injured on international duty, while Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are also out.
"I don't like preparing for games because I don't sleep much," Arteta said at the post-match press conference.
"I looked forward to the Spurs game for four or five days and I had a very clear plan of how I was going to play.
I had prepared all the tactical meetings, the training sessions and everything. Then I got the news that we lost this player, then another player.
That made me have to completely change and adjust the plan to suit the force we have. It was a really big challenge,” added the Arsenal coach.
With the win against Tottenham, Arsenal has 10 points, temporarily ranking 2nd on the rankings, just behind defending champion Man City.
Winning 3 points against Tottenham shows the Gunners' resilient defense and bravery in a team facing many difficulties in terms of personnel.
“As soon as we received the squad information, the whole team was even more eager to compete. We faced the challenge, but we played with courage, showing our qualities to be able to win the last match,” Arteta added.
Arsenal kick off their UEFA Champions League campaign this week with a trip to Atalanta.
Martin Odegaard's ability to play is still uncertain. According to Norwegian team doctor Ola Sand, with this injury, the Arsenal captain will be out for about 3 weeks.
Most likely, Odegaard will also have difficulty playing when Arsenal visits Man City in round 5 of the Premier League.
