On the evening of May 12 (Vietnam time), the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF) announced that coach Carlo Ancelotti will lead the Brazilian team.
Mr. Ancelotti has been under a lot of pressure at Madrid since Real Madrid were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, lost the Spanish King's Cup final to Barcelona and lost in the recent El Clasico. The race for the La Liga championship has basically ended for Los Blancos.
CBF said Ancelotti will leave Madrid after the final match of the season and officially take over the Brazilian national team starting on May 26, 2025.
CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues shared: "Putting Carlo Ancelotti in charge of Brazil is not just a strategic move. That is a statement to the world that we are determined to regain the highest position on the podium.
He is the greatest coach in history and now he will lead the greatest national team on the planet. Together, we will write new chapters to glorify Brazilian football".
ESPN sources said Real Madrid are about to reach an agreement with Xabi Alonso to replace Ancelotti.
Ancelotti is one of the most successful coaches in Real Madrid's history. In two terms, he won three Champions League titles and two La Liga titles.
The club has yet to confirm who will be the coach at the Club World Cup, kicking off on June 18.
