No team is sure of a place
Except for Man City and Liverpool competing for the championship, the two teams are currently in the Top 4 and neither team is sure to be there until the end of the season.
Both Tottenham and Chelsea had the opportunity to break away from the chasing group but could not take advantage. Now, they need to be careful in every match.
Tottenham surprisingly lost 1-0 to West Ham in the match on the 7th day. Therefore, they cannot create a safe distance from Arsenal and Chelsea. Moreover, Spurs cannot fully focus on their Premier League goals when they have reached the Champions League semi-finals. They will have to divide their forces to conquer the arenas.
Therefore, it is entirely possible that the "Roosters" will be pushed out of the Top 4 when they are only 2 and 4 points ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal respectively.
Chelsea is a similar case. They were held to a draw by Burnley in round 35, so they could not increase their score gap with Arsenal.
This round, they continued to draw 1-1 with M.U in the big match, "The Blues" once again missed the opportunity to catch up with Tottenham. Chelsea still have a Europa League front to save a season without a title, so it will be difficult to make every effort for a place in the Top 4.
Balancing goals and forces will be something that "teacher" Sarri needs to consider carefully.
And every team has a chance
The season will end with 2 more rounds, Arsenal or even M.U still have a chance to compete for a position in the Top 4.
Before round 33, Arsenal was the team that was considered the " gateway" to the European Cup C1 in the most recent season. They have a favorable schedule when they do not have to meet any team in the "Big Six" along with very good form at that time. However, the loss to Everton in round 33 gradually made things worse for the "Gunners".
It was thought that the win over Watford would help Arsenal regain their spirit, but it turned out to be just a small effort before they really fell into crisis.
The Gunners lost all 3 of their next matches against Crystal Palace, Wolves and Leicester. Currently, coach Unai Emery and his team are ranked 5th, 2 points behind Chelsea in 4th place.
A top-four finish is not the Gunners' only way to qualify for next season's Champions League, as they are still moving further into the Europa League.
However, with their current erratic form, Arsenal have no guarantees for the championship in Europe's second largest playground. They will have to try each match, and cannot afford to compete in the domestic arena.
Man United seemed to have run out of hope with consecutive humiliating defeats. However, thanks to the opponents who continuously "fall" on points, they still have many opportunities, if not many.
Having earned 1 point from the big match against Chelsea, M.U has 65 points and is ranked 6th. A draw was not enough for the "Red Devils" to catch up with the Top 4 points, but it was enough for them not to be left further.
3 points is a very fragile gap, what the Old Trafford team needs to do right now is to persevere in passing through each remaining round and waiting for others to "stumble".
Only then will coach Ole Solsa and his students have the chance to appear in the Champions League next season.
