On February 25, information from the Command of the Nghi Son Port Border Guard Station (Thanh Hoa province) said that on the night of February 24 and early morning of February 25, the unit coordinated with the authorities to successfully rescue a cargo ship that had an accident at sea and took the two injured crew members to the emergency room.

According to initial information, at around 9:50 p.m. on February 24, Nghi Son Port Border Guard Station received a report from Nam Phat 8 ship, captained by Le Van Vinh (born in 1984, from Vinh Bao, Hai Phong) informing that while the ship was traveling from Vung Tau port to Hai Phong, carrying 6,900 tons of iron, at coordinates 19°33'03"N - 105°58'27"E (me island about 12 nautical miles to the Southeast), the ship's cabin suddenly collapsed and caught fire.
The incident caused severe burns to the two crew members, making it impossible for the boat to continue moving. The captain anchored on the spot and contacted the authorities to ask for support. At the time of the incident, there were 13 crew members on board.
Immediately after receiving the report, Nghi Son Port Border Guard Station coordinated with Thanh Hoa Maritime Port Authority to dispatch PTSC 06 ship to rescue. At around 3:30 a.m. on February 25, the PTSC 06 ship brought the two crew members to shore and transferred them to Hop Luc International General Hospital for emergency care.
The two crew members in distress were identified as Mr. Pham Xuan D (born in 1985, from Hung Ha, Thai Binh) - the chief engineer and Mr. Ta Quang H(born in 1994, from Thanh Chuong, Nghe An) - the chief engineer.
