After weeks of negotiations, an agreement between Man United and Brentford on Bryan Mbeumo has been signed. The Cameroonian striker's transfer contract has a maximum value of 71 million pounds, including an initial payment of 65 million pounds, paid in 4 installments, plus a maximum of 6 million pounds in bonuses.
Bryan Mbeumo is expected to have a medical check-up this weekend, before officially becoming the "Red Devils", thereby promptly joining the new team to participate in the summer tour in the US. This is very good news for captain Ruben Amorim because he has got what he needed after nearly 2 months of pursuit, even many times it seemed to be at a dead end.
The Cameroonian star became Man United's third signing this summer, after the team completed deals with Matheus Cunha and teenage defender Diego Leon, who arrived at Old Trafford from Paraguay's Cerro Porteno.

Last month, Man United made their first offer of £45 million, plus a further £10 million in add-ons. They were rejected by Brentford and sent a second offer worth £55 million, plus a further £7.5 million in add-ons. This number is still rejected by The Bees, with the reason that when looking at deals like Anthony Elanga (who moved from Nottingham to Newcastle for £55 million), Brentford has the right to demand more. Last season, Bryan Mbeumo scored 20 goals and had 8 assists in the Premier League. This is a very good achievement.
Not only looking at Anthony Elanga, Brentford took the example of Matheus Cunha - a rookie of the "Red Devils" for comparison. Cunha is priced at £62.5 million, so Brentford does not want Mbeumo to have a lower price. They even want the Cameroonian striker to cost much more than Cunha.
Having come through the youth system of Troyes (France) before joining Brentford in 2019, Bryan Mbeumo has made great strides in his career. To date, he has played 242 matches, scored 70 goals and had 51 assists in all competitions for the "Bees".
Notably, the striker's number of goals has increased every season, showing a significant improvement in finishing and scoring efficiency. In his first Premier League season (2022-2023), Mbeumo scored just four goals. In the 2023-2024 season, Mbeumo scored 7 goals and had 4 assists in just 15 matches before suffering an ankle injury and undergoing surgery.
By the 2024-2025 season, the Cameroonian star had exploded strongly when scoring 20 goals in the Premier League, only behind top-rated strikers such as Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Erling Haaland (Man City) and Alexander Isak (New Newcastle).

This impressive performance has convinced the Man United board and coaching staff to spend big to get the signature of Bryan Mbeumo. With his speed, technique and diverse goalscoring ability, Mbeumo promises to be an important piece to help Manchester United's attack become sharper and more fearsome in the new season, serving the "Red Devils" ambition to return to the top.
