Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim wants to finalise the deal with Bryan Mbeumo before their pre-season tour in the US starts on 22 July. The Red Devils have had two bids rejected by Brentford, who are looking to collect more than the £62.5 million that Man United have paid Matheus Cunha.
Man United are racing against time to recruit Mbeumo before they leave for the US later this month to play 3 matches against West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton. Mbeumo also expressed disappointment at the situation, as negotiations continue.
Mbeumo has made it clear that he wants to join Old Trafford. Ashu Cyprian Besong, assistant coach of Cameroon, revealed that the striker is not satisfied with the current situation.
"He's clearly frustrated because it's been going on for too long. But he is a professional player and has foreseen these things. I spoke to him about a week ago and he was very calm with everything going on. But of course, he told Brentford that he wanted to go to Man United.
Mbeumo just wants the two clubs to reach an agreement, because he is very grateful for the opportunity that Brentford has given him in his career" - Besong said.

However, Brentford have hinted that Mbeumo will stay at the club if the price they request is not met. The Bees' director of football Phil Giles told the media last month: "Mbeumo had a great season. We expect him to receive great attention.
He has his own ideas for his career direction, of course, he has every right to do that. We are constantly discussing this issue with him and his agent.
At the moment, we have not had any agreement to let him go. It's not impossible if he's still a Brentford player next season if we want him to stay."
Mbeumo has had an excellent 2024-2025 season for Brentford, scoring 20 Premier League goals in 38 appearances. Only Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, Newcastle's Alexander Isak and Manchester City's Erling Haaland have scored more goals than Mbeumo.

According to British media, the "Red Devils" are slow in this deal due to difficulties in selling players such as Antony, Jadon Sancho or Marcus Rashford. They were hesitant before making a third offer to Mbeumo.
Both Chelsea and Tottenham are targeting Mbeumo in the summer of 2025, but the striker has refused. He also has a contract with Brentford until 2026 with an option to extend for another year.
Man United and Mbeumo are said to have completed their individual terms, with a 5-year contract and an option to extend for another year. If the payment structure can be agreed upon, it is likely that this deal will be completed in the coming days.
