Over the past week, giveMeSport conducted a series of polls to determine the outcome of one of the most difficult controversies in sports: Who is the greatest sports figure of all time?
To create this poll, giveMeSport page has released a list of 16 outstanding names in world sports spanning many periods such as Muhammad Ali, Roger Federer, Tiger Woods, Floyd Mayweather, Michael Schumacher, Pele or C.R Donald.... After that, they divided into 4 groups for sports fans to participate in the voting. The winner of each group will enter the semi-finals and the vote will continue until the "final".
The 16 legends were selected into 4 groups for fans to vote for. The order of the tables includes:
Group 1: Lewis Hamilton, Roger Federer, Floyd Mayweather and Serena Williams.
Table 2: Phil Taylor, Michael Phelps, Tom Brady and Lionel Messi.
Group 3: Tiger Woods, Cristiano Ronaldo, Martina Navratilova and Michael Jordan
Table 4: LeBron James, Michael Schumacher, Pele and Muhammad Ali.
They are all excellent names, creating special impressions in the world of sports. The vote brought the "group stage" victory for the Swiss tennis player, Federer thanks to 20 Grand Slam titles and many finals as well as Olympics.
Group 2 was a resounding victory for the Argentine genius, Messi, with the vote up to 75%.
Messi's opponent in the race for the Golden Ball over the past decade, Ronaldo, is number 1 in Group 3 when Phelps or Brady cannot compete.
Boxing legend Muhammad Ali topped Group 4 with 52% of the votes. In addition to his 3 world championships, the influence Ali has created in social issues has made him an icon of world sports.
After the semi-final vote, Messi and Ali were the winners, with the support rate of 65% and 32%, respectively.

In the final, the overall winner was Messi, with a very close percentage of votes. Statistics show that there were 240,800 people participating in this election on Facebook with the rates for the two candidates being 51% and 49%. On Twitter, this rate is 53% and 47%, a number that is not too surprising with what Messi has been doing.
