Cristiano Ronaldo said he has no plans to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup in the US, although he is sought after by many clubs participating in the tournament.
Speculation about the 40-year-old's future increased last month. FIFA President Gianni Infantino said discussions are underway about Ronaldo playing in the FIFA Club World Cup, although Al-Nassr is not eligible to participate.
Last month, Al-Nassr sporting director Fernando Hierro said they were negotiating with Ronaldo on a contract extension. However, Al-Nassr has to face competition from many clubs that want to recruit the Portuguese superstar.
CR7 itself also contributed to the increased instability after Al-Nassr's season-end match against Al Fateh when posting on social media: "This tournament is over. What's the story? Still being written".
When asked about the possibility of signing another club in the coming days to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup later this month, Ronaldo told reporters: "It's unrelated, there's no point in talking about anything other than the national team at the moment.
I have had a lot of contact from clubs, I find things reasonable, but other things are not. You can't go to all the clubs, you have to think about the short term, medium term and long term.
That is actually my decision, which is not to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup, even though I have received many invitations".

Ronaldo just scored the decisive goal to help Portugal defeat Germany 2-1 to advance to the Nations League final, where they will face Spain.
Many people consider this year's Nations League final as a confrontation between Ronaldo and 17-year-old Barcelona player Lamine Yamal. However, the Portuguese striker said he did not think so.
"Always like that, whenever I play football, whenever I play a big match, Cristiano is always up against this team, that team. More than 20 years have passed and things are still the same, it no longer makes me worry, it's normal.
They are completely different generations, one generation is starting, another generation is ending, that is my case.
In reality, it is not like that, this is a team competing with a team. It will always be like that. What I want most is for Portugal to be at good level, confident that everything will go well, that we can play a great match and win against a very strong team, maybe the strongest team in the world" - CR7 added.
After the journey in the Nations League, fans will wait for Ronaldo's next move. Will he extend his contract with Al-Nassr, or will he write a new chapter in Europe, MLS or another potential destination?
