Chelsea will close out their Europa Conference League group stage campaign with a trip to Ireland's Shamrock Rovers.
The Blues have officially qualified for the round of 16 after a 3-1 win over Astana (Kazakhstan) in the 5th match. If they want to top the group stage, they need to beat Shamrock Rovers.
Chelsea are currently the only team to have won all five of their group stage games, and the English side have done so with relative ease. Although coach Enzo Maresca has made major changes to his starting lineup in each match due to the tight schedule, Chelsea are still a force to be reckoned with.
It is likely that Mr. Maresca will continue to rotate the squad in the match against Shamrock Rovers to save energy for the Premier League race.
On the other hand, the Irish side also went unbeaten in the Europa Conference League group stage. But they can only guarantee a direct ticket to the last 16 if they beat The Blues. Currently, Shamrock Rovers are only certain of a place in the play-offs after 3 wins and 2 draws.
Although they have not played badly in this arena, the trip to Stamford Bridge will probably await them with a bigger challenge.
