This weekend's clash between Liverpool and Chelsea will see two new managers in the league, Arne Slot and Enzo Maresca, go head-to-head for the first time. Slot has built Liverpool on the solid foundations left by Jurgen Klopp on Merseyside and has made his mark with his tactical style, winning eight of his last nine games.
On the other hand, the Blues are unbeaten in seven games. Liverpool will be their biggest test since losing to Man City at the start of the season. Maresca has overcome a difficult pre-season to get off to a flying start in west London, but this will be a real test for him and his players.
Liverpool are currently top of the Premier League, with their defence a key factor in their success. They have conceded just two goals in the Premier League so far. Chelsea are fourth in the table heading into Round 8. A win at Anfield would see them move into the top three, but a defeat would see them drop to sixth.
The West Londoners can be confident when travelling to Merseyside with the second-best scoring record in the league (16 goals), just behind Man City's 17.
