Manchester United are about to find a way out for Jadon Sancho from Old Trafford, but the price to pay is not small.
Serie A giants AS Roma have made a £20 million offer to the England international - £50 million less than the fee the Red Devils spent to sign him in 2021.
In 4 years at Man United, Sancho has never met his initial expectations. Conflict with manager Erik ten Hag in 2023-24 forced him to return to Dortmund on loan, before joining Chelsea in the following season.
The Blues were forced to sign Sancho's contract after his time playing at Stamford Bridge. However, they agreed to pay him £5 million in fines to return to Old Trafford.

Currently, Sancho is not in coach Ruben Amorim's plan this summer and has to practice separately. The 25-year-old is still looking for a new destination through transfer negotiations.
Juventus are said to be looking to sign Sancho, who has only one year left on his contract. However, the Turin team has not yet closed the deal because they need to sell more players to balance finances.
Man United have accepted the fact that they will have to sell Sancho for less than £25 million this summer. According to British media, Roma also considered the option to borrow Sancho with a buy-in clause at the end of the season. However, negotiations are difficult due to Sancho's current contract situation.
The Red Devils still have the option to extend Sancho's contract for another year, but his huge salary has many people skeptical about Man United's willingness to continue paying.
Sancho is said to be willing to reduce his income by half to join Juventus, a team that could provide him with the opportunity to play in the Champions League - something Roma could not meet.
Sancho is one of the few players that Man United have not been able to liquidate this summer. The former Man City youngster was left out of the starting lineup along with Tyrell Malacia, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho.
Currently, Sancho hopes to join Chelsea after reaching an individual agreement, but the transfer fee has not been agreed by the two clubs.
Meanwhile, Antony is waiting for the completion of the transfer deal to Real Betis. He had previously received a letter from Man United asking him to speed up the progress, because the La Liga team was only ready to wait until the end of the summer transfer window.

Amorim has hinted that the club could still keep some players who are looking for a new destination. He shared at the beginning of the summer: "Some players have to find a new position to get a place in the team. Other players have shown that they want a new challenge and a new team.
We give them time to think and decide. If it comes time for them to join the team again, they will return because they are still our players. I know for sure that Omar Barrada and Jason Wilcox and the club have some valuable numbers for these players.
If no club had met that price, they would still be Man United players. I understand other clubs can wait until the last minute, but they can still create a surprise."
