Liverpool have been rejected by Newcastle for a job with striker Alexander Isak, as the transfer deal continues.
According to British media, the Premier League champions' asking price is £120 million, including £110 million in spot payments and £10 million in add-ons. However, this figure is still lower than the valuation of about 150 million pounds that Newcastle set for the Swedish striker.
Liverpool are expected to continue to chase the 25-year-old striker's signing deal. Isak is currently training alone at the training center of his former club Real Sociedad, after not participating in Newcastle's pre-season tour in Korea.
With Isak said to want to leave and the "Red Brigade" increasingly showing interest, Newcastle may have to make every effort to keep this striker.

In case he cannot keep Isak, Ollie Watkins is considered a potential replacement target. The Aston Villa striker has been on the cards for Arsenal and Manchester United this summer. As for Newcastle, they are also watching Benjamin Sesko as another backup option.
Speaking earlier in the week, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe shared about Isak's current situation: "He is still our player, still under contract with the club.
To some extent, we have control over what happens next with him. I really want to believe that we still have a chance to keep Isak. My wish is for him to stay, but that is not entirely under my control."
Liverpool have spent a large sum of money this summer to strengthen their squad, aiming to defend the Premier League title. This is a title they won in their first season under coach Arne Slot.
"I always say that if we see opportunities in the transfer market, we will never hesitate to bring in the right players.
The problem is quality, and I think we have done some very good deals."

If Isak completes the £150 million deal, Liverpool will officially surpass the £400 million spending mark in the summer of 2025. Thereby, breaking Chelsea's record for spending in a single transfer window ( £405 million in the summer of 2023).
The Kop have already detonated a series of blockbusters this summer, with famous signings such as Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Giorgi Mamardashvili.
