Man City won an important 3-1 victory over Bournemouth to consolidate their 3rd place in the Premier League.
The Citizens are currently in control of their ownership in the race for a ticket to the Champions League, with 2 points ahead of their chasing teams including Newcastle, Chelsea and Aston Villa.
The victory over Fulham at the weekend will ensure Man City's third place. In theory, they have a chance to finish second in the group, with Arsenal having to lose 9 goals to Southampton.
Despite finishing in 3rd place, this is only the second time in 16 seasons that the team led by Guardiola has been outside the top 2 (3rd place, 2016-2017).
A draw is certainly enough for them to secure the top 5, but a defeat at Craven Cottage could see City slip away from safety and join the Europa League.
Pep Guardiola's team is still quite confident with a 9-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League. Not to mention they have won their last 17 meetings with Fulham in all competitions.
On the other side, after many months of competing for the right to participate in the European Cup, Fulham has lost the opportunity after a series of 6 losses in 10 matches in the Premier League.
They are currently 10th in the table. In theory, Marco Silva's team cannot end the season in a higher position than Brighton. The best result that Cottagers can aim for is Brentford's 9th place.
However, the defeat to Man City could see them drop to 12th place if both Bournemouth and Crystal Palace win.
Force situation
Fulham: Timothy Castagne is absent due to ankle surgery earlier this month. Rodrigo Muniz, Harrison Reed (both with calf injuries) and Reiss Nelson ( thigh injuries) are out.
Man City: Mateo Kovacic is suspended due to a red card against Bournemouth. John Stones is still sidelined with a thigh injury.
However, both Nathan Akeb and Oscar Bobb are healthy and can play. Rodri returned from injury against Bournemouth, but Guardiola confirmed he would not feature against Fulham.
Expected lineup
Fulham: Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Berge; Wilson, Cairney, Iwobi; Jimenez
Man City: Ederson; Nunes, Dias, Akanji, Gvardiol; Bernardo, Gundogan; Savinho, De Bruyne, Marmoush; Haaland
