Man City have just suffered their heaviest home defeat under coach Pep Guardiola. The 0-4 defeat to Tottenham also marked the Citizens' fifth consecutive defeat in all competitions.
Things are tough for the English champions. Injuries have left their defence vulnerable. In their most recent Champions League game, City lost 4-1 to Sporting, led by Ruben Amorim - now the manager of Man United. Their position is no longer secure, having dropped to 10th in the table.
The Citizens have gone 33 home games without losing (excluding penalty shootouts) in the Champions League. Losing to Feyenoord would be nothing short of a disaster for the Etihad Stadium team.
In contrast, Feyenoord is currently 21st in the Champions League standings with 6 points. But in the domestic league, their form is very good, winning 6 of their last 7 matches.
It is worth mentioning that the 6 points that the Dutch representative has earned in the European tournament all came on away matches (3-2 win over Girona, 3-1 win over Benfica). However, in the past, the Rotterdam team did not have good results against City.
In the 2017-2018 Champions League group stage, they lost 0-4 at home to Man City, before losing by a narrow margin at the Etihad. The Citizens need to escape the deadlock immediately if they want to qualify directly for the round of 16.
Expected lineup
