Man United have suffered two consecutive defeats in the Premier League in just three days against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
The results have left the Red Devils in 13th place in the table with just 19 points - their lowest tally after 15 games since the 1986-87 season. After the defeat to Forest, manager Ruben Amorim said there was no quick fix to the problems he faces and it will be a long journey to bring success back to Old Trafford.
In the Europa League, Man United are currently 12th, just 1 point behind the top 8 - equivalent to a direct ticket to the round of 16. If they want to ensure a safe position, the Red Devils will have to win all 3 remaining matches of the group stage.
On the other side, Viktoria Plzen surprised everyone by remaining unbeaten in their first five Europa League matches this season. Coach Miroslav Koubek and his team have had two wins and three draws to narrow the gap with the top eight to just one point.
The Czech Republic representative has been unbeaten in the last 7 matches in all competitions (6 wins, 1 draw), currently standing second in the domestic league table, but 10 points behind the leader Slavia Prague.
In theory, Viktoria Plzen can enter the match against Man United as a team that is rated much lower. But in reality, the chance will not be small, because the Red Devils have not had the best preparation in the past period.
