Lucien agoume (Sevilla)
agoume stands out as a strong candidate thanks to his brilliant form in La Liga last season. The 23-year-old French midfielder has been compared to N'Golo Kante for his ability to read the game, fight pressing and his rich physical foundation.
The biggest plus point of the agoume deal is the financial factor. Sevilla are struggling and are willing to listen to the offer at around 30 million Euros, a figure that is completely within Man United's ability to pay. Moreover, agoume has been on the "Red Devils" target for many months, which means that the scouting team has specific assessment data.
The risk of this deal is only that Sevilla can "turn around" at the last minute, raise prices or delay sales to put pressure. However, if Man United want a quick deal, agoume is clearly the most feasible and reasonable option.
Lamine Camara (AS Monaco)
Camara is the most interesting name on this list. Joining Monaco from Metz for 15 million Euros in the summer of 2024, in just 1 year, the Senegalese midfielder has proven him to be the young talent worth watching in Ligue-1. His speed, ability to compete and daring helped Camara stand out in both ball recovery and attack.
Last season, Camara made a strong impression in the Champions League, scoring in the match against Lyon and participating in an important victory against Barcelona. These performances have caught the eye of many scouts across Europe, including Man United.
The problem is that Monaco often is in no rush to sell emerging pearls, unless they receive a large offer. Camara is only 22 years old, with great potential for development, so if the "Red Devils" want to own him, they will have to pay a fee that is double or even three times the original value. This will be an expensive deal but in return, Man United could own a future pillar in the next 5-7 years.
Mikel Jauregizar ( Athletic Bilbao)
The 21-year-old midfielder of Athletic Bilbao has played outstandingly in La Liga last season, with strong tackles, effective competition and even scoring in the Europa League match against Manchester United. He is considered by many experts to be superior to Martin Zubimendi in some aspects of defense.
Not only Man United, Liverpool and Man City have been following Jauregizar. The Citizens are even willing to offer a starting price of 25 million Euros. This signals an extremely fierce competition if the "Red Devils" really enter the game.
The biggest difficulty lies in Athletic Bilbao's transfer policy. The Basque side are known for their golden goalkeepers and if they are forced to sell, they often charge a very high fee. Therefore, Jauregizar could be a potential deal in terms of expertise but it would be difficult to make in the short remaining time of the transfer window.
Ederson (Atalanta)
It is not impossible to ignore Ederson - Atalanta's star, who played outstandingly in Serie A and especially the Europa League 2024 campaign, contributing to bringing the Serie A representative to the top of Europe. The Brazilian midfielder is a comprehensive "box-to-box" model who is strong in pressing, solid in the arena, and possesses the ability to shoot and penetrate the penalty area.
Ederson is also in the target range of many European giants, because of his rare versatility when he can play from the "number 6" and "number 8" positions to the right midfielder position. With his experience in top-notch competition, Ederson will bring immediate improvement to the M.U midfield. The problem lies in the fee when Atalanta valued the player at no less than £45 million.
