Real Madrid have just announced their financial plan for the period 2024-2025 with key members of the club. In this plan, revenue from the FIFA Club World Cup is not listed, although Los Blancos will definitely participate in this playground in the summer of 2025.
The Bernabeu team was once involved in a scandal threatening to withdraw from the tournament after Carlo Ancelotti's statements a few months ago. Afterwards, on their homepage, Real Madrid had to clarify that they were definitely participating, even with the highest respect.
According to The Athletic, for the first time in history, Real Madrid's revenue has exceeded 1 billion Euros. However, this does not include the proceeds from the FIFA Club World Cup and recent stadium rental events. In 2024, Bernabeu was the destination of The Eras Tour - Taylor Swift. This event of the American singer brought in a lot of money for the Royal team, but it was not listed in the financial plan for the period 2024-2025.
Among the “side” events outside of the major annual tournaments, Real Madrid listed expected revenue from the Intercontinental Cup in December, where they won a ticket to play in the final on December 18. This raised suspicions about Los Blancos’ lack of transparency as they did not list all possible revenue sources.
The club's budget is also facing a deficit as it is involved in lawsuits with local residents. The reason is that the club has rented out the stadium to organize many music and entertainment events, affecting the lives of local people due to noise. Real Madrid has been fined twice after Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour, with the amount of 142,000 and 146,000 Euros respectively. For the time being, no music events will be held at the Bernabeu from now until April 2025.
Real Madrid have budgeted a revenue of €1.13 billion for the 2024-25 financial year, up €54.7 million from 2023-24. The club has seen a 14% revenue growth based on its stadium rental income, with an annual budget forecast of €362.1 million.
Los Blancos' "other income" will increase from €6.85m in 2022-23 to €82.99m in 2023-24. The club said this was mainly due to 30-year packages purchased by VIP customers, which will not be a recurring source of revenue.
Real Madrid will hold a meeting of its members on November 24, where the club's financial situation will be further discussed.
