On June 27, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung chaired a press conference to announce the results of the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
At the press conference, full-time National Assembly delegate of the Economic and Financial Committee Pham Thi Hong Yen answered the question about the time to amend the Law on Personal Income Tax.
Ms. Pham Thi Yen said that the current Law on Personal Income Tax stipulates that in case the consumer price index fluctuates over 20%, the Government will submit to the National Assembly Standing Committee to adjust the family deduction level.
The law also allows the Government to submit to the National Assembly Standing Committee to adjust the family deduction level. At the 10th Session, the Government is expected to comprehensively revise the Law on Personal Income Tax, including mentioning the adjustment of the family deduction level.
Previously, Central Party Committee member and Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc said that this draft law will be submitted by the Government to the National Assembly for consideration at the 10th Session taking place in October.
The National Assembly deputies also agreed that the National Assembly consider amending it at the nearest session, and it will take effect from the beginning of 2026.
Informing at the press conference, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Law and Justice Nguyen Phuong Thuy said that the arrangement of the two-level local government apparatus is being urgently prepared by the Government and relevant agencies to ensure smooth implementation from July 1, 2025.
The National Assembly, National Assembly agencies and National Assembly deputies will regularly monitor and supervise the implementation of laws and resolutions, promptly reflect inadequacies to find solutions.
The Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Law and Justice Committee said that at the 9th Session, the National Assembly passed a large number of laws and resolutions. The Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy and relevant agencies need to make every effort to effectively put the Laws and Resolutions into practice.
Informing about this issue, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung said that the Government is very proactive in building a synchronous legal system, issuing documents guiding the implementation as soon as the law comes into effect, to ensure effective implementation of the National Assembly's decisions.
