Coach Ruben Amorim was "ashamed" when he declared that there was "something wrong" with Manchester United's way of playing football before the match against Chelsea.
Man United have suffered their 13th Premier League defeat since Amorim was appointed last November in a match against West Ham. The "Red Devils" are currently only in the relegation zone of 2 places.
The Old Trafford side have gone 7 Premier League games without a win, equaling their longest winless streak in the competition. And now Amorim's side will have to end that poor run of form against the Blues.
At the time Amorim took over at Man United, they were in 14th place. However, the misfortune of the attack and poor defensive record, having won just six in the Premier League, has seen them drop to 16th in 39 points.
No matter how much progress is in the final matches, Man United will definitely have the worst Premier League season in their history.

"I feel ashamed that in 26 games, we have won just six. something was not right with the way we played. Sometimes the problem is not tactical, but how we face competition and suffering. When we are angry because we have lost.
Everything we have gone through, I have a clear picture and a clear sense of what this team needs to become better. Not only on the pitch but also off the pitch. We have all the conditions to be better" - Amorim admitted.
The 40-year-old is approaching his second transfer window at Old Trafford. He could get support after only recruiting Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven in the winter. However, Amorim insists that the problems that plague his side cannot be solved with new investment alone.
Amorim said: "There are some things we can't change in the summer. That is the feeling at the club and the way we look at the problem.
It felt like we couldn't lose a game. We have to change that and not think about transfers. This is more important than changing people. We are doing it but not good."
The defeat to The Hammers ended an eight-match winless streak, marking the 14th Premier League game of the season and the 10th under Amorim where Man United have failed to score.
Man United's poor record against the opposition goal - only Leicester, Southampton and Everton have scored fewer goals - shows a team lacking confidence. But Amorim insists the problem is deeper than the numbers.

Asked if confidence is one of the root causes of difficulties, Amorim replied: "It's a story.
To fight to the end and how we face the competition is another thing, it will not be good to lose or draw. That feeling is not about confidence, but about belief and understanding that we are Man United".
Somehow, there is still light at the end of the tunnel for the "Red Devils". The Europa League final against Tottenham in Bilbao next week will give Man United the opportunity to win both the title and a place in the Champions League.
Despite this being an obvious priority, Amorim is determined not to let any focus off the trip to Stamford Bridge.
"I'm not worried about the motivation for the Europa League final, it's another game. Tottenham are living in a similar way," Amorim said.
Instead, the Portuguese strategist saw the match against Chelsea as an opportunity for Man United to show the fighting spirit and desire he really wanted to see.
The match between Chelsea and Man United takes place at 2:15 am on May 17 (Vietnam time).
