Tottenham stepped into the Premier League Top 4 after a 2-0 home win over West Ham.
Both teams struggled to find an attacking rhythm in the first half and Spurs only had 2 shots on target in the first period.
However, in the second half, the home team played better. They missed some good chances before defender Emerson Royal scored in the 56th minute.
Son Heung-Min was brought on to replace Richarlison in the 64th minute and only needed 4 minutes to put his name on the scoreboard. The Korean player launched a cool finish into the right corner, raising the score to 2-0 for Tottenham. This is Son Heung-Min's 5th goal of the season.
This victory was really necessary for Tottenham after 2 defeats against Leicester and AC Milan. With this result, they officially overcame Newcastle to take 4th place.
West Ham started the match well but Jarrod Bowen missed a series of good chances. If the visitors could take advantage to open the scoring, perhaps the match would be easier for them. Tottenham had better squad quality and showed a clear difference in the second half.
With the defeat to Spurs, The Hammers have now won just one of their last 11 Premier League games. They are ranked 18th with 20 points after 23 matches, 1 point behind the safe zone.
Meanwhile, Spurs have 42 points after 24 matches, 1 point more than Newcastle.
