Candidates for the 2024-2025 Nations League championship

Spain, the 2022-2023 Nations League champion and just crowned at EURO 2024, is one of the most promising candidates.

Former French, Portuguese and German champions are other leading candidates.

2020-2021: France (won Spain 2-1 in the final)

2022-2023: Spain ( beat Croatia 5-4 after a penalty shootout in the final).

The exact bonus for the 2024-2025 Nations League has not been revealed.

In the 2022-2023 Nations League, Spain earned 10.5 million Euros, while runner-up Croatia received 9 million Euros.

How is the World Cup qualifiers related to the UEFA Nations League?

The 2024-2025 Nations League will partly involve the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Europe.

The top 12 teams in each group will qualify directly for the World Cup, while the second-placed teams in each group will advance to the play-off round.

The 4 teams with the highest rankings in the Nations League but do not qualify in any of the above 2 ways will also enter the play-off round.
