Barcelona have signed Wojciech Szczesny as a free agent after the goalkeeper reversed his decision to retire five weeks ago.
He agreed to return to play to help the Catalans after they lost Marc-Andre ter Stegen to a long-term injury.
Ter Stegen had surgery after rupturing the patellar tendon in his right knee last month and is expected to be out for the rest of the season.
Inaki Pena, 25, was expected to replace Ter Stegen in goal, but Barca have bolstered their squad with Szczesny, who announced his retirement after terminating his contract with Juventus.
When Szczesny retired, he posted on Instagram: "Today, although my body still feels ready for the challenges, my heart is no longer in it. I feel that right now it is time to devote all my attention to my family."
The 34-year-old former Poland international had one year left on his contract at the Italian club, where he replaced the legendary Gianluigi Buffon, and has now joined Barcelona on a contract until June 30, 2025.
Szczesny won the Serie A title and Coppa Italia three times in more than 250 appearances for Juve, losing his place to new signing Michele Di Gregorio at the end of the 2023-24 season.
Szczesny also played for Arsenal, Brentford in England and Roma in Italy.
Szczesny has the chance to make his debut for Barcelona - the team currently leading La Liga - when they visit Alaves next Sunday.
