Liverpool had a difficult match at Arsenal, holding their opponents to a 2-2 draw after falling behind twice. Van Dijk was the one who equalized 1-1 for the port city team in the first half, with a close-range header.
Van Dijk, Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season and each has yet to sign a new deal.
Speaking after the match at the Emirates, Van Dijk said he was in no rush to negotiate a new contract with the club.
"I'm very calm," Van Dijk told Sky Sports. "We'll see what happens at the end of the season. I'm enjoying football, physically and mentally. Enjoy the game because it was a great game for me and my teammates," the Dutch centre-back said.
Liverpool were on the verge of their second Premier League defeat of the season. However, Salah's equaliser late in the second half earned them a point at the Emirates. Liverpool have fallen to second place in the table, behind Man City. Liverpool will play Man City on December 1.
Van Dijk, who won the Premier League with Liverpool in 2019-20, said a point against Mikel Arteta's side was a good result in a tight title race.
“Emirates is a difficult place for us. Arsenal are a very solid team and are always difficult for everyone. It was good for us to score two goals after being behind.
It sounds cliche, but it's better to get a point than to lose. We had the chance to try and win. The first half was very difficult. We played well in the second half, trying to equalise. It's only October, let's see what happens at the end of the season. Let's enjoy the journey ahead," Van Dijk stressed.
Liverpool manager Slot praised his players for showing their resilience and "energy" after securing a point, despite the team having one less day's rest than Arsenal after Champions League action in midweek.
"Being behind twice against a very strong opponent like Arsenal, getting a point is a good thing. We had to play away in the European Cup, had less than a day to prepare for the match, being behind twice, facing the home crowd but coming back strong", Arne Slot emphasized.
Salah scored his eighth Premier League goal of the season, drawing him level with Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler on 163 Premier League goals.
The Egyptian striker has moved up to eighth place in the list of all-time top scorers in the tournament. Just above Salah in the rankings is former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry in seventh place with 175 goals.
Arne Slot said Salah's greatest quality is his reliability when the team needs him. He said: "He always shows up when he's needed, like last week when he scored a goal and made an assist against Chelsea.
For a big club like Liverpool, you need players who can make the difference, Salah is that. But I have to say Ibrahima Konate also played very well for us today. He doesn't get the credit he deserves, but he did a very good job today."
