Real Madrid's Vinicius was just named the best men's player of the year at the FIFA Best awards ceremony in Doha, Qatar, which took place in the early morning of December 18.
The 24-year-old won the UEFA Champions League and La Liga with Los Blancos, scoring 32 goals in the calendar year 2024. One of those goals came in the Champions League final, where Real won 2-0 against Dortmund at Wembley.
Two months after missing out on the 2024 Ballon d'Or, Vinicius was honored at FIFA's The Best with 48 votes, 5 more than Rodri (43). Jude Bellingham was third on the voting list with 37 votes.

Among the national team captains, Martin Odegaard, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah all voted for Vinicius. However, Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Joshua Kimmich all voted for Rodri.
This victory helps Vinicius become the first Brazilian player to win the FIFA best men's player award since 2007 (Kaka).
With the double title with the Royal team, coach Carlo Ancelotti was also honored as FIFA's best male coach.
Man United striker Alejandro Garnacho is the winner of the Puskas award - honoring goal of the year with a superb overhead kick against Everton in November 2023.
Barcelona's Aitana Bonmati won Women's Player of the Year. Emma Hayes won Women's Coach of the Year after winning Olympic gold in Paris with the US team.
