"Brother" Hong Son talks about the strengths of the Vietnamese team

Former football star Nguyen Hong Son said that the Vietnamese team needs to defend tightly when facing Indonesia in Group B of the 2024 ASEAN Cup.

On the evening of December 15, at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho province), the Vietnamese team had a match against the Indonesian team in the second round of Group B of the ASEAN Cup 2024 (formerly known as the AFF Cup).

Notably, this match featured the appearance of members of the program "Call Me by Fire" such as former famous players Hong Son, Ha Le, Tien Dat, Hoang Hiep, ST Son Thach, and Cuong Seven.

In an interview at Viet Tri Stadium, former national team player "Brother" Hong Son said that the Vietnamese team needs to defend tightly against a strong opponent like Indonesia.

"In the match between Vietnam and Laos, our team did not have the cohesion or ability to break out. But in the second half, we made changes to score 4 goals against Laos. However, we need to have a tight defense against Indonesia. They just had an unexpected draw with a score of 3-3 against Laos.

Therefore, Indonesia is very worried when coming to Vietnam to play away. Vietnam's attack is very strong with Tien Linh, Quang Hai, Hai Long and Tuan Hai. I hope that the Vietnamese team with the support of more than 20,000 spectators at Viet Tri Stadium will win 3 points to advance to the next round," Hong Son shared.

The match between Vietnam and Indonesia will take place at 8:00 p.m. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team are expected to achieve good results in this match to gain an advantage in the race for a semi-final ticket in Group B.
