On the morning of February 20, Binh Duong club officially announced the signing of a contract with striker Cheick Timite. The striker born in 1997 from the Ivory Coast is not a strange name to Vietnamese football fans when he played in the 2023-2024 V.League for Ho Chi Minh City club.
Timite scored 8 goals in 22 appearances for HCMC. In July 2024, Timite's contract was terminated and he has been unemployed to this day.
Cheick Timite will be an alternative to the disappointing foreign player Malep Dipita. Malep was born in 2004, has only played 2 matches for Binh Duong, playing a total of 25 minutes. Notably, he was also kept on the bench in the 2-2 draw with Hong Linh Ha Tinh in round 13.
Sharing about Malep, Binh Duong head coach - Mr. Nguyen Cong Manh said: "He has not yet integrated well with the team because the time is not long enough, so I cannot trust to use Dipita in the match against Hong Linh Ha Tinh".
Currently, Binh Duong is in 6th place on the rankings with 18 points. In round 14, Binh Duong will host Song Lam Nghe An at home. This is also the only team that defeated Binh Duong under the leadership of coach Cong Manh in the surprise match in round 11.
