After a 2-week training trip in Germany, the Vietnam U17 women's team returned to the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to continue training. Accordingly, the coaching staff has officially announced the list of 23 players who will participate in the 2026 U17 Asian Women's Championship qualifiers.
After that, the whole team traveled to Ho Chi Minh City to get used to the weather conditions, the pitch and facilities in the locality - where the upcoming matches will be hosted.
The Group D qualifiers will take place from October 13 to 17, 2025 at Go Dau Stadium, with the participation of 3 teams including Vietnam, Guam and Hong Kong (China). The teams will compete in a round-robin format, with the group winner qualifying for the 2026 U17 Asian Women's Championship finals.
According to the match schedule, U17 Vietnam women's team will meet Guam on October 13 and Hong Kong (China) on October 17, both taking place at 4:00 p.m.
The 2026 U17 Asian Women's Championship final is scheduled to be held from April 30 to May 17, 2026 in China, gathering 12 teams (8 teams have passed the qualifying round, 4 teams will go straight including North Korea, Japan, South Korea and China).
This is a tournament of special significance as it is also a qualifying round to determine the places to participate in the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup 2026.
During the recent preparation period, the young players have been thoroughly trained in terms of physical strength, technique and tactics. Being present at the competition venue early helps the team proactively get used to the competition conditions, thereby having the best preparation.
With home advantage and determination, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team aim to win a ticket to the 2026 U17 Women's Asian Cup finals, marking a new step forward for Vietnam's youth women's football.
