On the afternoon of August 7, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) conducted a draw for the 2026 U17 Women's Asian qualifiers. According to the draw results, U17 Vietnam women's team will meet Hong Kong (China) and Guam in the qualifying round of the tournament.
The qualifying round has 27 teams, divided into 8 groups, including 3 groups of 4 teams and 5 groups of 3 teams. The top eight teams in the eight groups will, along with the four teams that have qualified for the 2025 U17 Women's World Cup, qualify for the finals, including the DPRK, Japan, South Korea and China.
According to the plan, the qualifying round will take place from October 13 to October 17. The final round will take place from April 30, 2026 to May 17, 2026.
Previously, the AFC assigned the right to host a group in the qualifying round to the Vietnam Football Federation. This also means that the U17 Vietnam women's team will play at home in the upcoming qualifiers.
