The final match in Group B of the 2025 U17 Asian Cup finals between U17 Vietnam and U17 UAE at 10:00 p.m. tonight (April 10, Vietnam time) has the meaning of survival for both teams.
After two impressive draws against U17 Australia and U17 Japan, U17 Vietnam had to win to win a ticket to the quarter-finals, while realizing their dream of participating in the U17 World Cup in Qatar.
The UAE is not an easy challenge. After a heavy 1-4 loss to Japan, the West Asian team quickly regained their form, defeating Australia 2-0 thanks to their effective counter-attacking defensive play. The move from the 5-3-2 to 4-2-3-1 formation shows the tactical flexibility of the UAE U17 coach, while bringing many surprises to the opponent.
However, U17 Vietnam under the leadership of coach Cristiano Roland also showed steadfastness and a resilient competitive spirit. Young players such as Gia Bao, Hong Phong and Van Bach are increasingly mature, promising to create an emotional match.
It is likely that coach Roland will continue to keep the squad that has operated quite well in the 2 matches against Australia and Japan. However, with the courage shown when successfully taking a penalty in the 90+5 minute of the match against Japan, striker Tran Gia Bao may be given the opportunity to start from the start by coach Roland.
Expected lineup of U17 Vietnam: Xuan Tin, Duy Khang, Van Khanh, Nguyen Luc, Viet Long, Hong Phong, Tan Dung, Hong Quang, Viet Anh, Duc Duy, Gia Bao.
