In Official Dispatch No. 106/TTHL&TDTT sent to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Organizing Committee of the National Second Division in 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tien Giang province stated: "In 2025, Tien Giang football team has prepared its forces in spirit to continue participating in this year's tournament. However, after carefully considering the actual situation, the Tien Giang football team regretfully asked to not participate in the tournament due to objective difficulties".
The management unit of Tien Giang club also thanked VFF for always creating conditions for the team to participate in tournaments within the national competition system, contributing to the development of sports in general and the local football movement to develop more and more.
According to research, the reason for Tien Giang's withdrawal is not a financial problem or a lack of personnel, because the whole team has a training plan for the 2025 season.
"We hope to receive sympathy from the Vietnam Football Federation and the Organizing Committee of the 2025 National Second Division. Tien Giang football team will continue to maintain football activities and participate in grassroots tournaments, while developing plans, overcoming current difficulties, improving professional quality with the spirit of determination to return to participate in national tournaments in the coming time", this document emphasized.
Thus, with Tien Giang withdrawing, the 2025 National Second Division has only 15 participating teams including: Phu Tho, Tre Ha Noi, PVF, Bac Ninh, Tre Da Nang, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Van Hien University, Lam Dong, Vinh Long, Quang Ninh, Hoai Duc, Tre PVF'CAND, Gia Dinh, Tay Ninh.
